Gonzaga broke into the WCC Championship without any blemish and secured the top spot. Despite the impressive strength of Gonzaga's recent schedule, Mark Few has brought many challenges in non-conferences, even in the game against Baylor. Gonzaga defeated the four top 15 teams by 12.8 points.
In the past two weeks, the case of Michigan as the No. 1 seed has been hit. The Wolverines have lost three of their past five games, including a breakout against Illinois and a 68-67 victory over rival Ohio State in the semifinals of the Big Ten Championship. Due to injuries, neither Michigan (Isaiah Rivers) nor Ohio State University (Kyle Young) participated in the game. Michigan ranked first in the regular season standings with a short record of 14-3 in the regular season. The overall resume is impressive, ranking second in the Associated Press poll and winning six times among the top 25 teams in the Associated Press. Juwan Howard (Juwan Howard) won Hunter Dickinson (Hunter Dickinson) freshman of the year at the same time, won the honor of coach of the year in the top ten hotels. Isaiah Livers and Franz Wagner both joined Dickinson and became the second team representative.
Illinois has seven consecutive victories (four wins with the top ten teams) and is now the top ten championship. Illini defeated the Buckeyes 91-88 within a few minutes before the start of the trials. Now, Illinois officially has the No. 1 seed. Due to COVID-19, the bear market did not drive the same momentum in March as it did before the planned closure. Baylor was bounced back by Oklahoma State University and Cade Cunningham in the semifinals and lost in Kansas State, preventing Scott Drew's perfect season. Having said that, Baylor's overall resume is self-evident, and there is no doubt that the Bears deserve a seed tonight. The thing worth paying attention to next week is that Baylor won with a 5 to 2 win rate of 8.4 points after recovering from a timeout. Prior to the suspension in February, Baylor had a 17-0 lead with a winning percentage of 24.2 points. Jared Butler leads Baylor in scoring (17.1 points) and steals (2.0 points).
The Cougars ended the game against the Cincinnati Pandas in Fort Worth with a 91-54 AAC championship. After winning, the Cougars became the second seed in March's madness. In three AAC games, star Quentin Grimes averaged 19 points per game. Since arriving in 2014, coach Kelvin Sampson (Kelvin Sampson) has led Houston into the third NCAA tournament berth, with a total record of 163-63. Houston won Sweet 16 in the form of three seeds in 2019, and is currently Sampson's highest seed so far.
The Buckeyes did not give up the game against Illinois at all when they fell by double digits early in the Big Ten Championship. Forcing overtime, Ohio could not end the matter because Illinois cleared the free throw line to ensure a 91-88 victory. Before the battle with Illinois, Ohio State University proved that its regular taxiing did not cause concern. The Buckeyes eliminated Minnesota, Purdue University in the 20th place and Michigan State in the 4th place in the final game, and therefore retreated to second place. Ohio State University has the best March Marchness seed since Thad Matta.
The Hawkeyes lost in the semifinals against Illinois on Saturday night, failing to meet their ambitions for the top ten championships. However, Iowa brought a lot of energy to this big dance, including the player of the year favorite and eight victories to defeat AP's top 25 opponents. With Luka Garza's position now retired and out of trouble, he hopes to take Iowa State into March Madness with 23.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
The Alabama SEC championship was held 80-79 in a thriller from Bridgestone Stadium in Nashville on Sunday. Since Louisiana State University was unable to change the buzzer, Alabama maintained and gained a strong seed due to the victory. The Red Tide scored 21 points from Jaden Shackelford, and Herbert Jones had a strong performance. The latter had 13 points, six assists, four blocks and one steal. Next 11 rebounds. After scoring 47 points in three games, Jahvon Quinerly received the MVP honor today.
After Colin Gillespie was injured, Villanova lost this season's final in Providence. From there, Georgetown defeated the Wildcats in the Great Eastern Championship.
It was a breakthrough season for the Razorbacks. Eric Musselman of Arkansas lost to LSU in the SEC semifinals and won the No. 3 seed in the March Madness to replace Colgate.
Florida State University lost to the Georgia Tech ACC championship online on Saturday night. The loss put FSU firmly in the fourth line, facing UNC Greensboro on Saturday afternoon. FSU shares a pod with No. 5 seed Colorado and No. 12 seed Georgetown. The winner of the first game in the pod will be held on Monday in the second round.
The boiler maker is the fourth seed in the southern region and will face the 13th seed in northern Texas. Purdue withdrew from the quarterfinals of the Ohio State Big Ten Championship, but it was a stable season for Matt Painter’s team. Their overall score in the conference was 18-9, and the overall score was 13-6, which was enough to get him fourth. Ranked first in the top ten events.
